Summer 23
Welcome! Croeso!
This is the Nursery Class webpage.
Welcome to the Summer Term in the Nursery Class. What a wonderful term ahead as we explore the world around us. What will we explore? Will it be bits and bobs and things we find in school and at home? What about places nearby or different buildings we learn and live in? Where will our adventures lead us? Let’s find out ……..
This half term, we will enjoy reading the story ‘Where’s my Teddy?’ by Jez Alborough. In the story, Eddy’s loses his teddy, Freddy. So off he goes to the wood to find him. But the wood is dark and horrible and little Eddy is in for a gigantic surprise. I wonder what fun we will have when we hide and hunt for bears in our Forest School. Where will the bears be hiding, under the tree? On the branch? Or, behind the bush? Will they be different sizes? How many will we find? I wonder, what ‘Teddy Treats’ will be in store for us.
We love to learn through songs and rhymes in the Nursery class and it’s even more fun when we get to act them out on our outdoor adventures. We will learn the rhyme ‘The bear went over the mountain’ as we explore different ways of moving and traveling just like the big bear! Adding musical instruments to our rhymes can be so exciting too.
We will also learn all about King Charles’ Coronation with songs and rhymes as we build bridges when singing ‘London’s Bridge is falling down’ as we discover where King Charles lives and celebrate the Coronation in style.
Being curious can be lots of fun. Whether it be exploring everyday objects and items like an assortment of keys, different size spoons made from a range of materials or boxes off all shapes. This is always a great way to spark our imagination as we learn together with our friends.
What will you discover on our journey together this term?
