Autumn 22
Welcome to the Autumn term in Reception Class. On this page you will find information about topics, activities and our timetable for this half term.
I am looking forward to sharing lots of fun learning experiences with your children this term and I cannot wait to tell everyone about our first theme. Let's find out what we will be studying in Reception Class this Autumn half term...
Our theme for the first half of the term is going to be..
Welcome! Croeso!
This is the Reception Class webpage.
Our theme for the term is going to be..
To begin the Autumn Term the children will settle into the routines of their new class and enjoy learning with their friends. We will learn how to be helpful, kind and thoughtful at school. We will talk about how and why it is important to be good friends to each other. We will also discuss our families and look at how they are unique and special.
We will find out how the people in your family, school and local community are important and how they can help you. Tedi Twt is not feeling very well. Let’s find out how we can make him better in his story ‘Tedi Twt yn Dost’. We are going to keep fit and healthy every week by learning to ride a bike all by ourselves.
We will learn about the natural changes that happen during the season of autumn, including how the weather changes, why trees lose their leaves and how wild animals prepare for winter. Shall we go on a visit to Pembrey Country park to look for signs of Autumn in the forest?
We will celebrate Harvest by performing our Harvest song ‘Big Red Combine Harvester’ in St Illtyd’s Church. We will also be taking part in the Pori Drwy Stori Rhyme Challenge and we are going to have such fun learning to sing a new English or Welsh rhyme each week.
We will enjoy listening to the story The Little Red Hen. We can work together to create our very own story map to retell the story with our friends. I wonder shall we bake some bread for The Little Red Hen and her friends?
Does this sound exciting? Remember in our EPIC sessions it's your ideas that count so get your thinking caps on ... what important people would YOU like to find out about?
