Summer 23
Our theme for the term is going to be..
Our Big Question: Why is water so important?
This term we are going to love exploring and finding out why water is so important. In this project, we’ll become water detectives and look at all the different ways we use water.
We’ll listen to the story Mr Gumpy’s Outing, where Mr Gumpy takes his friends on an outing in his boat. We’re going to learn to retell and create out very own versions of the story. Let’s investigate which containers work well as boats. Which ones float and which ones don’t? Shall we build our own boats that float? I wonder if the RNLI can help us learn about how to keep safe and have fun by the water.
We are looking forward to visiting the beach at Pembrey Country Park. I wonder which creatures live under the sea? Where do they live? What do they look like? How do they move? What do they eat? Let’s investigate together!
We are so excited to work with the children in Year 4 during Entrepreneurial Week to set up our very own business. I wonder what product we’ll decide to make and sell. Who will make the greatest amount of profit and win the competition?
Let’s have fun during Wellbeing Week! We will be doing lots of fun activities that will help us learn how to be healthy and happy. We will enjoy listening to the story ‘Hari, Heti and the Happy Heart’ and look forward to designing and making our very own healthy breakfast. Let’s keep fit and healthy by practising our dance moves in Zumba, completing the Big Pedal obstacle race and why don’t we explore our local community whilst on a sponsored walk. We can’t wait for our grown-ups to watch us on Sport’s Day too!
It's over to you - time to start thinking of your ideas for our EPIC sessions, where we will decide together what we can learn about in our exciting theme ‘What We’ll Build’.
