Spring 23
To begin the Spring Term, we welcome new children to Pembrey School and enjoy building on friendships whilst exploring new learning experiences together. We will learn how to set goals and challenge ourselves to achieve them. As we get to know each other, we will begin to recognise how we are the same and different in many different ways.
This half term, rhymes come alive with our Pori Drwy Stori rhymes. We will sing action rhymes, number rhymes, animal rhymes and nursery rhymes. Celebrating ‘Big Welsh Rhyme Time’ during early February means learning lots of new Welsh and English rhymes which we can share at home with our families. We will start the fun with Five Little Ducks. Let’s get counting! If we’re really clever we’ll be counting backwards too! I wonder if we’ll be able to move like a duck and explore the outdoors and water play with our little yellow ducks.
We are looking forward to reading the traditional tale ‘Goldilocks and the Three Bears’. What will we learn? What will we explore? Will we be able to count the bears, sort the different sized bears, make porridge for breakfast and bring our home corner to life with the Three Bears kitchen. Will there be a bowl for baby bear, mummy bear and daddy bear? What about a chair? I wonder, will Goldilocks visit too?
At this time of year, the weather can be so different – in the morning it may be bright and sunny and by the afternoon the rain may begin to pour down! We will begin to understand all the different types of weather. Sut mae’r tywydd heddiw? I wonder , what fun can we have on a rainy day? Can we collect the water and jump in big puddles. What about when it gets colder? How does it get so slippery? On a windy day, where does the wind blow? Can we make and fly a kite?
Does this sound exciting? Remember as we learn , it’s your ideas that count so get your thinking caps on ... what will you discover on our journey this term?
