Summer 23
Welcome! Croeso!
This is the Year 3 webpage.
Welcome to the Summer term in Year 3. On this page you will find information about topics, activities and our timetable for this term.
I am looking forward to sharing lots of fun learning experiences with your children this term and I cannot wait to tell everyone about our first theme. Let's find out what we will be studying in Year 3 this Summer term...
Our theme for the term is
WHAT WE'LL BUILD
This term, we're embarking on an exciting learning journey inspired by the brilliant book, "What We'll Build" by Oliver Jeffers. Our focus? STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) subjects and the ingenious inventors who've shaped the world. We have already come up with our "big question": "How high can we fly?"
Get ready for some mind-blowing STEM lessons! We'll be diving into hands-on activities and investigations all about flight. We'll unravel the mysteries of aviation and discover the remarkable achievements of those inventors who dared to dream of soaring through the skies. Along the way, we'll sharpen our problem-solving skills, engage in critical thinking, and, of course, have tons of fun!
In our language lessons, we'll be focusing on explanation texts. We'll learn how to write clear and concise explanations, breaking down complex ideas into easily understandable steps. Drawing inspiration from the inventors and their groundbreaking innovations, we'll unleash our creativity and craft some informative and engaging written pieces.
Furthermore, we have an exciting surprise lined up! We'll be heading to the local pool in Llanelli for swimming lessons. Not only will we have a splashing good time, but we'll also learn valuable water skills and improve our health and fitness.
What a fantastic summer term! Arbennig!
